Carminati starts from a simple ambition: that windows and doors are perceived as design elements, not components. Slim timber profiles, structural glass and precise engineering let the view become the protagonist of the room.
Founded in 1894 as a small joiner’s workshop near Milano, Carminati today engineers and manufactures bespoke windows and doors for luxury residences and hotels, from Bvlgari Hotel & Resort in Dubai to Four Seasons Amaala – Triple Bay in Saudi Arabia.
Through Royal Design Marbella, Carminati systems are specified, coordinated and installed for villas and residences across the Costa del Sol.
Explore the systems

Tradition that keeps innovating: from traditional windows and doors to patented minimal frames.
A joiner’s workshop in Bergamo
Carminati began crafting wooden articles near Milan. Wood remains its element: a noble, natural material whose virtues and limits the company knows deeply.
Timber coupled with glass and steel
Constant research pairs wood with aluminium, steel and structural glass, creating contemporary systems unique in complexity, aesthetics and performance.
50+ people, 150+ projects a year
From concept to maintenance, Carminati engineers each window and door for luxury homes and hotels, now available on the Costa del Sol through Royal Design Marbella.
Timber systems designed to frame the view, not interrupt it.
Every Carminati system is engineered for its opening, with structural, wind-load and weather-resistance calculations completed before production begins. These are the systems we specify most on the Costa del Sol.

Skyline Minimal Frames wooden windows
Minimal 37 and 50 mm timber profiles bonded to structural glass. The glass reinforces the entire sash, allowing the wood to become a refined, minimalist line while maximising natural light within the same opening.

Lift-and-slide wooden doors
Large wooden sliding doors on Carminati’s patented floor-recessed track: a flush threshold between inside and outside, and smooth, silent movement even for oversized sashes.

Wood-aluminium windows and doors
Timber inside, protective aluminium outside: the warmth of wood in the room and a durable, low-maintenance skin for Mediterranean sun, salt and humidity.
The minimal closure, in detail.
What makes a Carminati frame feel lighter is evident at a glance: profiles that almost disappear, hardware designed for minimal timber sections, and a threshold that sits flush with the floor.

Skyline Pivot
Vertical pivot doors with refined, minimal profiles and concealed pivots for striking, elegant entrances.
Skyline Bifold
Folding timber windows and doors that clear the opening completely.
Skyline NoForce
Magnetic-levitation sliding that moves heavy sashes with minimal effort.
Skyline Drive
Motorised sliding doors for the largest openings of the house.
Seaview entrance door
Custom pivot front doors combining security, design and durability.
Interiors and boiserie
Interior doors with 30 mm frames and bespoke timber wall panelling.
Engineering that makes wood lighter.
Two Carminati patents make it possible to achieve exceptionally slim timber frames without compromising strength, security or thermal performance.
Floor-recessed track for lift-and-slide systems
A single fibreglass block, recessed into the floor, houses the sliding mechanism and track. A flexible, articulated belt keeps dust and debris out, allowing even large sashes to glide smoothly and silently with minimal visual impact.
Minimal frames with structural glass
The moving sash is bonded to a structural glass pane that reinforces the whole structure: thinner profiles, more light, better protection against intruders and reduced heat loss.

Tailor-made at hotel scale. For the Bvlgari Hotel & Resort in Dubai, Carminati engineered glazing up to four metres high for wind pressures of 2,000 N/m², hiding steel reinforcement inside the timber to keep the profile slim. At Four Seasons Resort and Residences Amaala – Triple Bay, in Saudi Arabia, Carminati developed bespoke lift-and-slide doors exceeding four metres in height, combining ultra-slim timber profiles and expansive glazing with engineered steel reinforcements, dedicated hardware and rigorous testing to ensure smooth, safe operation under demanding coastal conditions.

What architects and villa owners ask before specifying Carminati.
How Royal Design Marbella works with Carminati wooden windows, lift-and-slide doors and wood-aluminium systems in Marbella and across the Costa del Sol.
Ask your own questionWhat is Carminati known for?
Carminati, founded in 1894 near Bergamo, is known for minimal wooden windows and doors for luxury residences and hotels. Its Skyline Minimal Frames collection uses slender 37 and 50 mm timber profiles and patented structural glass technology.
Does Royal Design Marbella work with Carminati on the Costa del Sol?
Yes. Royal Design Marbella is the Carminati partner for Marbella, Benahavís, Estepona, Sotogrande and the Costa del Sol, supporting specification, local coordination and installation.
Are wooden windows suitable for villas near the sea in Marbella?
Yes, when they are specified for the climate. For exposed façades, Carminati wood-aluminium frames combine a timber interior with a protective aluminium exterior against sun, salt and humidity.
How large can a Carminati lift-and-slide wooden door be?
Carminati has engineered lift-and-slide and folding doors over 4 metres high for projects such as Four Seasons Amaala. The final size depends on glazing, loads and site conditions and is confirmed during engineering.
When should Carminati be specified in a project?
As early as possible. Slim profiles, structural glass and large sliding doors depend on thresholds, loads and dimensions, so early coordination lets Carminati engineer the system around the architecture.
Can architects and interior designers specify Carminati through Royal Design Marbella?
Yes. We support architects and interior designers with drawings, technical information, samples and coordination with Carminati for projects across the Costa del Sol.
