NOBEL PEACE CENTER
Cultural glass architecture in Oslo
This Nobel Peace Center project reflects the delicate balance between contemporary performance and historic preservation. For this landmark cultural institution in Oslo, bespoke SL30-ISO® slim steel windows and doors were carefully integrated into the original arches of the historic carriage house at Vestbanen. The ultra-slim steel profiles introduce a refined architectural language while delivering modern technical standards. High levels of thermal insulation, wind and water tightness, and enhanced burglar resistance ensure that the building meets present-day performance requirements without compromising its historic character. Designed by Schjelderup & Gram Arkitekter and executed with precision, the intervention preserves the identity of this cultural landmark while subtly enhancing its functionality and longevity.
