VILLA WELGELEGEN

From historic villa to contemporary restaurant in Groenlo

Villa Welgelegen represents the careful transformation of a former hotel into a spacious and contemporary restaurant where architecture and landscape coexist in harmony. The intervention preserves the historic charm of the villa while introducing a new sense of openness suited to modern hospitality. Terraces, gardens, and adjoining greenhouses extend naturally from the interior spaces, creating a seamless dialogue between inside and outside. The integration of ultra-slim SL30-ISO® steel and glass systems enhances transparency and light, reinforcing the connection between architecture and its surrounding environment. The project balances heritage preservation with contemporary refinement, ensuring durability, performance, and an atmosphere aligned with today’s dining experiences while respecting the building’s original character.
