What a glass partition makes possible.
A solid wall closes a space permanently. A glass partition resolves the same brief without the same cost to light, sightlines and spatial quality. These are the reasons it gets specified — and what defines the difference between a well-designed system and a standard one.

Separation without closing the space
A glass partition provides acoustic or functional separation while keeping the floor plan visually open. Light continues to move through the space, the sightline to the garden or the adjacent zone is preserved, and the room does not feel reduced. This is the fundamental reason a glass partition gets specified over a solid wall — and why the quality of the system matters so much.

Frameless or framed — determined by the design
A minimal frameless system reads as almost invisible — the glass appears to float in the opening with no visible structure. A steel-framed system introduces presence and architectural character — the frame becomes part of the design language of the space. Neither approach is inherently better. The choice depends on what the project asks of the partition and how it relates to the surrounding architecture.

Glass specification matched to the brief
Clear toughened glass maximises light transmission and visual continuity. Satin or sandblasted glass provides privacy while still allowing light to pass. Acoustic-grade laminated glass delivers sound reduction where the brief requires it. The glass specification is a functional decision — determined by what the partition needs to achieve, not by what is simplest to source.

With integrated door — or without
A fixed partition resolves a brief where the separation is permanent and no access is required between zones. A partition with an integrated door — hinged, sliding or pivot — resolves a brief where the zones need to be both separated and connected. Both are developed as a single system: the door and the partition designed together, not combined after the fact.

Every partition we produce is dimensioned to the exact opening — floor-to-ceiling height, full width of the structural gap, connection details to the surrounding walls, floor and ceiling. A standard system adapted to fit introduces compromises that are immediately visible in a premium interior. We develop each partition from the dimensions and conditions of the specific space.

Every glass partition system we produce follows the same process. Nothing critical is delegated. The same team manages each stage — from the first site visit and structural assessment through to final installation on site.

Consultation
and specificationWe begin with the space — dimensions, structural conditions, wall and ceiling substrate, floor finish and the design intent. System type, material, glass specification and any integrated door requirements are confirmed at this stage. If you have drawings, we work from them. If not, we take measurements on site ourselves. Every variable is agreed in writing before fabrication begins.

Technical
designWe develop the full technical specification — system type, frame profile, glass weight and type, fixing details and finish. For MHB systems, thermal and acoustic performance are confirmed at this stage. Connection details to wall, floor and ceiling substrate are resolved before fabrication begins. Where required, fabrication drawings are produced for architect approval.

Fabrication
and quality controlEvery element is produced to the agreed specification and checked before it leaves for site. Frame tolerances, glass dimensions, fixing alignment and finish consistency are verified at this stage — not after installation. A partition that reads correctly in a premium interior is the result of precision here, not remedial work on site.

Installation
and completionFor our own steel and Royal Glassea interior systems, our team manages the on-site phase directly — fixing, alignment, sealing and any integrated door commissioning. For MHB systems, installation is carried out by MHB; Royal Design Marbella coordinates and manages the full process on site. We do not consider a project complete until the partition is installed exactly as it was designed.
Lead time from approved drawings is confirmed before work begins. We communicate proactively if anything changes — and flag access or sequencing requirements in advance.

What determines
the cost of a glass partition
A glass partition is not a product with a fixed price. It is a solution designed for a specific space — and the cost reflects the system type, the glass specification and what that solution actually requires.
- System type
A frameless system, a steel-framed system and a certified MHB glazing system carry different cost profiles. The system is determined by what the space and the brief require — and the cost follows from that decision.
- Dimensions
Floor-to-ceiling height, full span width and the connection details to the surrounding structure all affect the engineering. A larger glass area requires a more demanding fixing specification and, in most cases, thicker glass — which changes the system throughout.
- Glass specification
Clear toughened for a standard interior partition sits at one end. Acoustic laminated for sound reduction, or thermally insulated units for exterior-facing glazing, sit at the other. The glass specification is a functional decision with direct cost implications.
- Door integration
A fixed partition is a different scope from a system with an integrated hinged, sliding or pivot door. The door adds engineering — hinge load, hardware, frame coordination — and the partition and door must be designed together from the outset.
- Installation
A straightforward single-span installation in a standard domestic space differs from a large-format commercial glazing system coordinated with floor finishes, structural fixings and the main contractor's programme. The installation cost reflects the actual site conditions.

Yes — floor-to-ceiling partitions are one of the most common specifications we receive, particularly for premium residential interiors on the Costa del Sol. A full-height partition maximises the visual quality of the space and avoids the visual interruption of a head rail. The structural conditions — ceiling substrate, floor finish, wall connection details — are assessed before fabrication begins. Glass thickness and the fixing specification are determined by the full height of the panel, not by a standard range.

Yes — glass partitions in bathrooms and wet areas are a specific application we work on regularly, particularly in villa renovations and new builds across Marbella and the Costa del Sol. For wet areas, the glass specification, fixing details and frame finish all need to be appropriate for moisture exposure. Frameless or minimal-frame systems are generally preferred in bathrooms — they are easier to clean and read more cleanly in the space. Sealing details at the floor and wall connection are confirmed before fabrication begins.

We work from their drawings, develop the technical specification in coordination with their team, and respond to technical questions with the level of detail they need.
